It takes a team of dedicated professionals to effectively meet the needs of clients who need top-level home health care. It also requires organized individuals who often work behind the scenes to make sure client outcomes are exactly what they should be.
These are the people most frequently required to juggle the daily demands, see that those outcomes are met and quickly trouble-shoot whenever it's required.
The fact that Empathy Care isn't part of a giant corporate chain allows them the flexibility to personalize reassuring programs of care for every client.

Erica S. Healey has worked in the medical field for more than 16 years, first in a variety of capacities at a highly-rated skilled nursing facility, and for the last nine years as administrator for Empathy Care.
She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Health Care Administration with a concentration in geriatrics and long-term care from Lynn University in Boca Raton. She continued to pursue her education and was subsequently licensed as a nursing home administrator.
Prior to moving into health care, the Florida native worked as a flight attendant for Continental Airlines, where she learned the value of empathy — a skill further reinforced after the unexpected passing of her young mother.
“I will be in health care for the rest of my life, because I have a passion for long-term care and for what I do. I know I can make a difference every single day,” she said.
Erica resides with her 8-year-old daughter in Palm Beach County.
Michael Remis, who joined Empathy Care in April 2012, brings to his role a background in sales and therapy, a passion he believes helps him convey the value of Empathy’s services when he meets new clients.
The Kansas City native earned a bachelor’s degree in business from Kansas State University, with a minor in business administration. He is also a licensed massage therapist and previously worked as an aquatic therapist.
“My work with Empathy is to head the sales team to look for new business in the community by working hand in hand with doctors, skilled nursing facilities, and assisted living facilities, letting them know the services Empathy Care can provide. Helping people and building on relationships drives my passion for homecare.”
When he’s not working Michael enjoys outdoor activities, the beach, and spending time with his family. He also coaches soccer for the SABR League in Boca Raton.
Tim has been a physical therapist for 20 years. He graduated with honors from Florida International University in Miami with a Bachelor’s of Science in Physical Therapy in 1991.
Tim's career spans a variety of settings, but most of his clinical experience came from the acute care hospital and home health venues. He was previously a rehab clinical supervisor as well as area and regional director for a major home health company.
He enjoys managing the physical, occupational and speech therapists at Empathy Care, where he has worked for four years. He is dedicated to building the best possible team of therapists and setting a high standard for quality care.
Tim has also been instrumental in developing specialty programs, including vestibular therapy, lymphedema therapy and low vision rehab.
Away from work, Tim enjoys time with his wife and two children. He is also an avid sports fan and fisherman.

Norma Joseph has been a nurse for many years, mostly in leadership areas in the home health arena. She graduated from Jackson Memorial Hospital School of Nursing and completed her Bachelor's of Science in Health Care Administration in 1980. Her experience includes acute care emergency medicine, cardiac surgery, general medical surgical nursing, rehabilitation medicine, and home health settings.
She believes home health nursing allows people to practice the true art of nursing on a one-to-one basis with the family as the central unit.
“We all recognize that seniors do better in their own environment by improving more rapidly and demonstrating fewer complications than in any other health care setting,” said Norma. “They're much more tuned into sustaining their own personal wellness at the best level possible.
“Empathy strives to bring the best care possible to each patient,” she said, adding she is pleased to be part of a company that provides better clinical outcomes than the national average.
